  Main Objectives
bulletYou should be able to discuss the physical nature and the orbits of the comets, asteroids, and meteoriods.
bulletYou should be able to describe the difference between the terms meteor, meteorids, and meteorites.
bulletYou should be able to discuss the cause of meteor showers.
bulletYou should be able to describe the four parts that a comet develops as it nears the Sun.
bulletYou should know what is special about the Apollo asteroids.
bulletYou should be able to list the properties of the solar system for which any theory of solar system formation must be able to account.
bulletYou should be able to descirbe the nebula theory of solar system formation
bulletYou should be able to describe the evidence we have that there are planets around other stars.
bulletYou should know the age of the solar system.
bulletYou should be able to briefly describe four theories of lunar formation and you should know which one of them is currently believed to be correct.
Tuesday Discuss Jupiter, comets, meteors, and the origin of the solar system.

Outside of class: Go over Chapter 10 review questions.  Start reviewing for the final exam so you can ask questions on Thursday.

Thursday Complete anything not done on Tuesday. Students ask questions about the material to be covered on the final exam.

Outside of class: Complete your preparation for the final exam which covers Chapters 7, 8, 9, 10, 16, 17, 18 and part of Ch. 6. This material starts with objectives of Week 12. The final exam will be Thursday, Dec. 15 at 1:00.
