On 22, I think you're basically trying to figure out how fast the balls are actually going in relation to a stationary object. This problem is similar to: a plane is flying 160 mph east. the wind is blowing 40 mph west, how fast would the plane go if there were no wind? Basically, vector addition/subtraction. On 53, find the acceleration parallel to the ramp using (vf)^2=(vi)^2+2a(delta x) and the info given in the problem. Then use the same equation and the acceleration just found to figure out delta x knowing that final velocity is 0 because the puck stops. Delta x tells you how far the puck went, so 8.5 - delta x = how far from the end of the ramp the puck stops.
