  Main Objectives
bulletGiven a physical situation, be able to construct a work-energy bar chart
bulletGiven a work-energy bar chart, be able to describe a possible physical situation to which it corresponds
bulletBe able to calculate the work done by both constant and non-constant forces
bulletBe able to solve problems using conservation energy and the work-energy theorem
Tuesday More practice with bar charts and energy conservation problems.

Outside of class:  Read Ch.10 Sec. 4-6 and Ch. 11 1-2.  Do Ch. 10 workbook exercises 19, 21, 22, and 23.  Complete Ch. 10 homework problems 6, 13, 54, and 58 to be turned in on Thursday.

Thursday Examples involving elastic collisions.  Review integrals and introduce multiplication of vectors.   Practice calculating work.

Outside of class:  Read Ch.11 Sec. 3-6.  Do Ch. 11 workbook exercises 1, 3, 4a,c,e, 8, 9, 12, and 13.  Complete pages 15, 16, 21, 22, and 24 of the bar chart handout to be turned in on Tuesday.  Complete  Chapter 10 homework 27 and 58 and Chapter 11 homework 2, 3, 5, 12, and 43 to be turned in on Tuesday.
