Week 5
| |
Main Objectives:
- Be able to calculate the electric field produced by discrete charges and continuous
charge distributions.
- Be able to discuss E-field pictures qualitatively
- Be able to describe the motion of charged particles in an electric field.
|
| Tuesday |
Continue to think about forces due to charged particles.
Qualitative exerices on electric forces and fields.Outside of class:
Read Ch. 26 Sec. 1-3 and handout material on calculating electric fields for continuous
charge distributions. Do Ch. 26 workbook exercises 3, 5, 7, and 9. Complete
Ch. 25 homework: 20, 23, 27, 63, 66, and 68. (Due Thursday) |
| Thursday |
Practice in groups thinking about directions of electric fields produced
by continuous charge distributions. Begin to practice calculating the electric field
due to continuous charge distributions. Outside of class: Read Ch. 26
Sec. 4-7. Do workbook exercises 16, 18, 19, 26, 27, 33, and 34. |
| Friday |
Continue to practice calculating electric fields
