Main Objectives:
- Be able to explain why there is no electric field inside a conductor.
- Be able to calculate the flux through a surface area.
- Be able to determine the electric field for symmetric charge distributions using Gauss's
Law.

| Tuesday |
Introduction to surface integrals as a prelude to Gauss's Law. Begin
discussion of Gauss's Law concentrating on the meaning of flux. Outside of
class: Read Ch. 27 Sec. 1-4. Complete Ch. 27 homework: 2, 4, 9, 18, and
22. (Due Thursday) |
