  Main Objectives:
  • Be able to describe qualitatively what's happening in a wire carrying a current.
  • Be able to explain how surface charges create electric fields which produce steady-state currents.
  • Be able to apply the ideas of drift velocity and current conservation to find currents.
Tuesday Monday/Tuesday switch day - no class
Thursday Exam II on Chapters 25, 26, and 27

Outside of class:  Read Ch. 28 Sec. 1-3. Complete Ch. 28 workbook exercises 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.

Friday Go over answers to exam questions.  Discuss what is happening inside a wire carrying an electric current.

Outside of class:  Read Ch. 28 Sec. 4-5.  Complete workbook exercises 11 -16, 20 and 21.  Complete Ch 28 homework: 5, 8, 10, 11, 30, 31, and 32.  (Due Tuesday)
